James Wortzman

James Wortzman has been a partner at Teplitsky LLP for more than 30 years. Since his call to the Bar, Mr. Wortzman’s practice has been restricted to commercial litigation, with a focus on complex real estate development, property shareholder, municipal, contract and construction disputes.

Mr. Wortzman and his team endeavour to provide resolution orientated litigation advice to achieve a client’s expectation of cost and time effective solutions.

Mr. Wortzman has appeared in all levels of court including Supreme Court of Canada, on numerous occasions before the Ontario Court of Appeal and at many trials in the Superior Court of Justice, resulting in well over 150 reported decisions.

Mr. Wortzman has a broad and diverse litigation practice including Real Estate Development Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Municipal Related Litigation, Corporate/Commercial Litigation, Shareholder and Partnership Disputes, Construction Litigation, Oppression Remedies, Specific Performance Claims, Professional Negligence, Intentional Torts, Quasi Criminal Offences, Mediation/Arbitration and Estate Litigation. 

James works directly with Jonathan Kulathungam, Karey Dhirani, Catherine Allen, Nipuni Panamaldeniya, and Jared Wortzman.
